Swiss Choc Habanero

Capsicum Chinense

Swiss chocolate habanero is one of the most unique chillies you could try. The pods start off with a green colour and end up in a deep dark brown when it is mature.

The pods are about 5cm long and 4cm wide, boasting much flavour. You will get both apple and berries and raisin flavours when biting into this pod, as it still packs some heat.

Heat Factor: Swiss Chocolate Habanero rates at 450 000 on the Scoville Heat units.

Chilli peppers grow best in hot climates, won’t tolerate frost, and enjoy full sun. The ideal growing temperatures are between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.

Chillies can grow in containers as long as they are positioned on a sun-filled windowsill. The size of the pot should be at least 10cm in diameter. When you notice roots growing out of the drainage holes, it is time to replant into a larger container.
