Trinidad Maruga Scorpion Peach

The Trinidad Moruga scorpion peach has a little sting like a scorpion. It is a super hot pepper, as the heat tends to kick in almost immediately after consumption.

The pods start off green and mature to a peach colour with a nice fruity taste and heat, similar to a habanero. These pods grow to a size of 5 centimetres with smooth thin skin.

Heat Factor: Trinidad Moruga scorpion peach rates at 800 000 – 1 300 000 on Scoville Heat units.

Chilli peppers grow best in hot climates, won’t tolerate frost, and enjoy full sun. The ideal growing temperatures are between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.

Chillies can grow in containers as long as they are positioned on a sun-filled windowsill. The size of the pot should be at least 10cm in diameter. When you notice roots growing out of the drainage holes, it is time to replant into a larger container.
