Buena Mulata Pepper in RS Pot

R450.00

Capsicum Annuum

Buena Mulata peppers are cayenne-shaped peppers that provide a comparable heat to cayenne. This pepper has a sweetness to it, in contrast to that of cayenne peppers.

The chilli pods endure a stunning colour experience as they mature. They start off from a beautiful purple into orange, brown, and then red, with many other colour variants in between. These pods can grow to between 10 and 20 centimetres

Heat Factor: 30 000 to 50 000 Scoville Heat units. This Chilli compares with Cayenne.

Chilli peppers grow best in hot climates and won’t tolerate frost, and they enjoy full sun. The ideal growing temperatures are between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.

This chilli plant is grown in a Root Stimulating Pot. It’s perfect for small properties or cold climates, as these pots are lightweight and easy to bring indoors during the winter. Additionally, it makes a wonderful gift when presented in a container!

Fertilising:

Use our slow-release nitrogen-rich all plant fertiliser. Apply 1 teaspoon every 4-5 month.

Mulch:

Mulch is a good way of preventing weeds and reducing the rate of water evaporation from the soil.

Apply organic mulch to your tree all year round. Use from 2 to 5 centimetres of pine bark mulch to protect the roots from UV damage and drying out. It retains moisture, and maintains an optimal pH. Do not let the mulch touch the plant stem, as it may cause infection or rot.

Watering:

Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist. In hot weather water your chilli in the RS Pot every day if no rain.

Staking:

Consider staking when your plants grow tall and skinny. This will give the plant upright support and protection against the wind.
